Hand-etched mirror with Samoan vaʻa (canoe) and Pe'a tatau motifs
Honolulu · Oʻahu

Reflection,
etched in
ancestry.

Bespoke mirrors carved by hand with Samoan tatau motifs. Each piece, a quiet ceremony — where your reflection meets the geometry of the ancestors.

The Studio

Every line is a prayer.
Every motif, a memory.

Brewster Studio is a practice of Samoan artistry — one hand, one studio on Oʻahu. Each mirror is etched freehand with diamond burrs, meditative and precise. Every piece a fingerprint; no two alike.

Questions

What to expect.

We start with a conversation — you share your story, your aiga, the motifs that resonate. I draft a custom pattern inspired by siapo, malu, or pe'a traditions. Once you approve the design, I begin the hand etching. You receive progress photos, and the piece is shipped when finished.

A custom mirror typically takes 4 to 8 weeks from approved design to shipping, depending on complexity and coverage. In-stock mirrors ship within 2 to 5 days. I will give you a firm timeline before starting.

Shipping is quoted separately from the piece price. I ship via UPS — Oʻahu hand delivery starts at $75, neighbor islands from $150, mainland US from $375. Every mirror is crated in a 1/4 frame plywood box, wrapped in bubble wrap, and fully insured.

A 50% deposit is due before work begins, with the balance due before shipping. I invoice through Square — you can pay securely by card, Apple Pay, or bank transfer.

Yes. While 28 to 30 in round mirrors are the standard, I can work with other dimensions and some alternative shapes. Pricing adjusts with size and coverage. Let's talk about what you have in mind.

Every piece is insured and crated in a 1/4 frame plywood box with bubble wrap. If damage occurs in transit, document it immediately and contact me. We will file a claim with UPS and find a solution — repair, re-etch, or replacement depending on the situation.
